Project Tempo is a construction project being delivered by construction specialists, ISG, on behalf of Legal & General. The project will deliver Tempo Maidenhead, an exciting and sustainable new commercial building in the heart of Maidenhead which aims to be one of the most energy efficient commercial buildings in the Thames Valley.
The construction project will involve upgrading and updating the buildings appearance with new glazing to produce a modern sustainable and energy efficient façade.
The existing roofs are being removed to make way for two further floors and on the south elevation a two-storey extension will be constructed to form the new entrance lobby and shared work area. The improvements will add a total 21,500sq ft to the existing building.
On the south east corner of the building a large section of the ground floor slab is being removed so a new slab at a lower floor can be installed which will form a new café on Kings Street.
The building will have low energy technology including over 5,000 sq. ft of roof top solar panels and air source heat pump technology to achieve an expected 39% reduction in the building’s carbon emissions. Over 11,000 sq. ft of biodiverse terracing and roofs also form part of the scheme.
The project is targeting to achieve the highest standards of energy efficiency - EPC A, as well as BREEAM Excellent rating which will make this building one of the greenest buildings in the Thames Valley.
